Latest and Greatest

So.....I thought I'd post some projects that I've been making lately. It's been a while since I've posted anything stamping-related on my blog, so here goes:

I made this guest book for my friend Stephanie, who is getting married on Saturday. She is having a small wedding and didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money on her guest book. She got this book for like $2.99 at Hobby Lobby and I altred it.

The paper I used is from a large pack of assorted DP that I got from Mike's. The back of the book is covered with the same paper.

Since their wedding colors are Red, White and Blue, I used varying shades of blue for the flower. I stamped the flower three times and then cut out the layers. I distressed them just a little. After I put the flower together, I highlighted the tips of each petal with Diamonds Stickles. The center is Yellow Stickles.

Ok so.....this card really amuses me!! Let me tell you the story --My mom and brother noticed five baby fishes in the aquarium this weekend. So, I wanted to congratulate my mom on the newest arrivals in the family -- her grandfishes.SEE???? Isn't this card diverting? I just love it!

Here is another card I made. I used CC129 and SC 135 (Splitcoast Stampers) for these cards. The one on the left is the actual sketch, but I wasn't sure how I liked it, so I flipped the sketch and this is what I came up with. Either way, I REALLY like these colors together!!!

My Apartment

Wow!!! This is kinda cool....this is my 100th post and it's about my new apartment. Somehow, that seems appropriate in my mind.

You may notice that my walls and windows are anaked. That's because I don't have any curtains or artwork to put there yet. BUT.....I will update more as I gett the stuff. I took a video, but I think it's too big....so I'll try to edit it later and post. Hmm....that sounds like a fun challenge for me.

Anyways -- enjoy the apartment. I hope you like it as much as I do....

One would think....

.....that since I don't have a job, it would be easy for me to update my blog. NOT SO, KIMOSABE!!

So, what have I been up to?? Well, I'm glad you asked!!
For starters, I have been helping my kinda roomie, Stephanie, move out of the apartment. OK. That sounded really bad. But it's not bad. Stephanie and Hugh are getting married on March 1 -- that's one week from Saturday, in case you were wondering. So anyways....Stephanie and Hugh bought a house and we have been moving Stephanie's stuff out of the apartment and into the house. Yesterday was the big push, so now all of her stuff is at the house and she is sleeping on the couch. After a month of sleeping on an air matress on the floor, I'm not going to complain too much. Here is a pic of the happy couple. :o)

AND I joined a church....Morningside Baptist Church. (<--- link if you wanna check it out). I really love it there. Morningside is actually the church I went to when I was here in Greenville during college. ACTUALLY, it is also the church where my dad was ordained to preach. Cool, huh??? There are even people there that I've known my entire life. YAY! That makes the church really feel like home.
I've also made friends with some BJU students....and they have been hangin' out at my apartment quite a bit. It's fun....like having little sisters. Plus, I like to think of it as being a ministry to them. I'll have to post some pics the next time I see them.
OK WELL.....I guess that's it. I will post some pics of my apartment as soon as I get it all straightened up.
Ciao!

It's been a while

Yeah..I know it's been a while since I've updated the blog. Since I haven't had internet, it has been a lot harder. BUT I just got wired (hehehehehe) Thursday, so we are all set now.

Things have been going pretty well. I ended up only working 2 hours on Monday - I think the company decided I was over-qualified for the job or something. But, I had a job interview on Friday (Feb 1) and should hear back from them on Monday.

In other news, things are going well at home. I really like the apartment. One day soon, I will take some picture, but it's kind of a mess right now. Stephanie has a lot of stuff -- lots and LOTS of stuff -- so it's kind of cluttery in here.....but that's to be expected when two people try to cram into one small place.

Anyways....I need to get going. I'm having people over for dinner and I need to get some cleaning done.
